CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team finished the 2016-17 regular season with a perfect 21-0 record after posting a 9-0 sweep of DeSales University in both teams' MAC Freedom finale on Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes finished the MAC Freedom schedule with a 6-0 record on way to the No. 1 seed in next week's MAC Freedom Tournament. The Lady Colonels will host No. 4 seed Misericordia University on Wednesday at a time to be determined at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes went 3-0 in doubles play allowing just three points through the three pairs matches. Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) began singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 before Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) went 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2. Francesca Varela-Seri (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg) won her No. 3 match 6-2, 6-0 while Dana Saliyev (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks South) posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4. Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) and Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) rounded out the Wilkes singles winners at No. 5 and No. 6 in straight set fashion.
