KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory over Yeshiva University Sunday night at the Kingston Indoor Tennis Club.
 
Wilkes improved its dual match record to 8-2 following the victory while Yeshiva dropped to 3-4 overall on the season.
 
The Colonels raced out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play and never looked back on way to the home victory. Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) continued his fine play at the top spot for Wilkes in singles competition winning 6-2, 6-4. Artyom Nabokin (Las Vegas, NV/Danvers) followed with a 6-5, 7-6 victory at No. 2 while Jonathan White (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) finished 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.
 
Chris Maderitz (York, PA/Central York) and Ryan Simon (Mahwah, NJ/De Paul Diocesan) rounded out the Colonels singles winners in the match.
 
Wilkes remains idle until March 29 when the Colonels travel to Ewing, N.J. for a match against TCNJ at 12:00 p.m.
