Wilkes Women's Tennis Suffers First Defeat of Season Falling 9-0 Against Methodist
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Wilkes University women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the 2018 season falling 9-0 against Methodist University Tuesday afternoon at Chaplin Park.
Wilkes dropped to 5-1 overall on the year following the defeat.
Wilkes' closest match came at No. 1 doubles where
Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and
Dana Saliyev (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks South) battled to a 9-7 loss. Methodist was able to take all six singles flights in straight set fashion to complete the sweep.
Wilkes is off tomorrow before concluding its spring break trip Thursday with a match with Bridgewater College (Va.) at 11:45 a.m.
