Wilkes Men's Tennis Falls 6-3 at F&M
HERSHEY, PA – Host Franklin and Marshall swept all three doubles matches before taking three of six singles flights on way to a 6-3 victory over visiting Wilkes University Sunday night at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Franklin and Marshall, ranked 16
th regionally, improved to 6-5 overall. Wilkes suffered its second straight defeat falling to 8-4 overall on the season.
Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus),
Andrew Neidig (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley) and
Chris Maderitz (York, PA/Central York) were the three singles winners for the Colonels in the match. At the top spot Murphy went 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to earn his 17
th overall singles win on the year. Neidig had to come from behind winning 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) at No. 4 singles. Maderitz swept in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 to round out the Wilkes singles winners.
The Colonels return to action Friday hosting SUNY Oneonta at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
