Wilkes Men's Cross Country Competes at Cougar Classic
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team placed fourth of four teams at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University Saturday morning.
The Colonels totaled 101 points as the University of Scranton took the team title with 44 points on the 8k course. A total of 56 runners took part in the race which included a seven-man alumni team that did not count toward the final collegiate team rankings.
Phillip Castrine (Germansville, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) was the top finisher for Wilkes in 15
th place. He set a career best with a time of 29:27.70.
Noah Molina (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) set a season best with a 29:50.60 to place 19
th.
John Zick (Middletown, NY/John S. Burke) placed 23
rd overall with a career best 30:19.90.
Kevin Long (Goshen, NY/Goshen) had a season best with a time of 31:12.40 in 25
th place and
Kevin Singhel (Athens, PA/Athens Area) rounded out the Colonels that scored with a 31:28.70 in 26
th place.
Dylan Corriere (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) placed 28
th with a time of 31:55.30 and
Alan Sebastianelli (Archbald, PA/Valley View) set a season best time of 32:15.60 to place 30
th.
Jason Montemuro (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) was 39
th with a 34:02.90 effort.
Colin Ahrensfield (Ashland, PA/North Schuylkill) set a season best coming in at 34:21.60 for 41
st place and
Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) finished with a time of 35:15.70 in 43
rd.
Patrick Connors (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover) (46
th, 35:36.90) and
Kaleb Hanson Richart (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) (48
th, 36:25.80) rounded out the Wilkes participants.
Next up for Wilkes is a trip to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. in two weeks for the Knight Invite.
