Wilkes Basketball Set for Road Clashes with Misericordia
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's and men's basketball teams are set to travel to Misericordia University for a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) clashes on Wednesday night at the Anderson Sports-Health Center in Dallas, Pa. The women's game will tip at 6:00 p.m. followed by the men's contest at 8:00 p.m.

Women's Preview:
Wilkes enters the conference matchup at 1-1 in the league and 3-5 overall following a 52-46 road win at FDU-Florham Saturday. The Colonels are 1-2 on the road this season.
Katelyn Kinczel (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) set a program single-game record with eight three-pointers in the victory over the Devils Saturday. She finished the game with a career high 28 points. Kinczel leads Wilkes and ranks tenth in the MAC Freedom with 12.1 points-per-game (ppg). Following her explosive performance she moved up to second in the conference with a .400 three-point shooting percentage and third with 2.8 made threes per-game. The junior is sixth overall with a .424 field-goal percentage.
Julia Marino (Turnersville, NJ/Washington Township) continues to lead the conference with 5.0 assists-per-game (apg).
Brianna Horton (Verona, NJ/Verona) is second on the team and 15th in the league at 9.1 ppg.
Erin Shober (Reading, PA/Wilson) leads the Colonels with 5.4 rebounds-per-game (rpg) and is second in the MAC Freedom with 2.0 blocks-per-game (bpg). She is third on the team in scoring at 6.0 ppg.
Kendra Smith (Hughesville, PA/Hughesville) leads the Colonels with 13 steals and is fourth on the team with 5.4 ppg.
Wilkes is seventh of nine teams in the MAC Freedom with a 52.4 scoring average and fifth defensively allowing 62.4 ppg.
Misericordia comes in with a 4-4 overall record and also at 1-1 in the MAC Freedom after defeating Delaware Valley 85-54 Saturday at home. The Cougars are 2-2 at home this season.
Alyssa Bondi is sixth in the conference with 15.0 ppg. Gianna Delfino ranks fifth with 7.6 rpg while Melina Santacroce is 11th at 6.8 rpg. Elizabeth Fasti leads Misericordia with 2.5 apg.
Morgan Haefele leads the MAC Freedom with a .429 three-point shooting percentage and Bondi is third at .381. Bondi ranks second with 3.0 three-pointers made per-game.
Misericordia is third in the MAC Freedom with 65.0 ppg and ranks sixth allowing 63.5 ppg.
Wilkes is 6-20 against Misericordia since the 2008-09 season. The Colonels won one of three meetings during the shortened season last year.
Men's Preview:
Wilkes enters the rivalry game with a 3-4 overall record and at 1-1 in the MAC Freedom following an 83-60 victory at FDU-Florham on Saturday. The road-tested Colonels are 3-2 on their opponent's home courts this season.
Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) leads the team and is fifth in the conference with 14.9 ppg this season.
Drake Marshall (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) is eighth in the league in scoring at 13.7 ppg.
Matthew Davidheiser (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) is 16th in the league with 11.9 ppg. Marshall recorded the Colonels first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Devils.
Marshall is 11th and Fisher 13th in the MAC Freedom with 6.6 and 6.3 rpg respectively to lead Wilkes. Davidheirser is tied for the league lead with a .500 three-point shooting percentage as he has gone 14-for-28 on the season from deep. He is ninth with 2.0 three-pointers made per-game.
Marshall is fourth in the conference with 3.9 apg. Fisher is third in the league with 2.0 blocks-per-game and is ninth with 1.4 steals-per-game.
Sean Coller (Hershey, PA/Hershey) and
Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) are second on the team with 12 made threes as Coller averages 7.9 ppg and Merrifield 7.6.
Wilkes leads the MAC Freedom in scoring offense at 84.7 ppg while ranking sixth in scoring defense at 74.6 ppg.
Misericordia comes in at 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference after a home loss to Delaware Valley on Saturday by an 86-72 score. The Cougars are 0-2 at home this season.
Nate Kreitzer is second in the MAC Freedom with 17.0 ppg and Joseph Baldachino is second on the team at 14.8 ppg. Kevin Lazdowsky (12.0) and Rodrigo Vani (10.2) also score in double-figures.
Lazdowsky leads the Cougars and is ninth in the league at 6.9 rpg. Vani is second in the conference with a .556 shooting percentage. Kreitzer is second in the league with 2.7 made threes per-game and 4.1 apg.
Misericordia is ranked third in the MAC Freedom with 81.9 ppg and is ninth allowing 89.0 ppg.
