WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's basketball team is set to host Misericordia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) clash on Friday at 4:00 p.m. inside the Marts Center.

Wilkes enters the game coming off a bye week. The Colonels are 0-2 in the conference after being swept by MAC Freedom leader DeSales to open the season.
 
Senior guard Maddie Kelley (Dallas, PA/Dallas) leads Wilkes and coming into this week ranked fourth in the MAC Freedom with 13.5 points-per-game (ppg). She also leads the team and ranks ninth in the conference with 5.5 rebounds-per-game (rpg). Sophomore guard Katelyn Kinczel (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) is second on the Colonels with 8.5 ppg. She leads the conference with 2.5 three-pointers-made per-game and is third with a .417 three-point shooting percentage. Senior forward Gabby Smicherko (Edwardsville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) leads the team and ranks third in the MAC Freedom with 3.5 assists-per-game (apg). She is third on the team with 6.5 ppg.
 
Wilkes is averaging 49.5 ppg on offense which ranks fourth in the conference and ranks sixth allowing 73.5 ppg on defense.
 
Misericordia enters with a 0-2 MAC Freedom record and at 1-2 overall. The Cougars opened their season last week with two losses to Arcadia. Misericordia defeated Stevens 56-55 by scoring the final six points in a non-conference contest at home Thursday night.
 
Coming into the week sophomore forward Meaghan McCaffrey led the Cougars and ranked 11th in the conference with 10.0 ppg. She also leads Misericordia with 5.5 rpg. Sophomore guard Alyssa Bondi and sophomore guard/forward Gianna Delfino are tied for the team lead and ninth in the MAC Freedom with 2.5 apg. Bondi is averaging 9.5 ppg while Delfino scores 7.0 ppg and also ranks third in the conference in steals and blocks.
 
Misericordia ranks sixth in the conference with 46.0 ppg on offense and fourth with 60.0 ppg on defense.
