Wilkes Women's Basketball Set for Misericordia Series
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's basketball team is set to play Misericordia University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) doubleheader on Thursday and Friday. The Colonels will travel to Dallas, Pa. on Thursday before hosting the Cougars inside the Marts Center on Friday for Senior Night. Both games will tip at 7:00 p.m.

Wilkes enters the game with a 1-5 overall record and at 0-4 in the MAC Freedom following a non-conference loss to Alvernia Monday night, 75-70. The Colonels defeated Misericordia 49-41 on February 26th at the Marts Center in a non-conference contest.

Katelyn Kinczel (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) is second on the Colonels with 7.5 ppg. She is second in the conference with 2.0 three-pointers made per-game and is third with a .353 three-point shooting percentage. Senior forward
Gabby Smicherko (Edwardsville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) leads the team and ranks third in the MAC Freedom with 3.5 assists-per-game (apg). She is third on the team with 6.0 ppg. First-year center
Erin Shober (Reading, PA/Wilson) is second in the MAC Freedom with 2.2 blocks-per-game.
In the victory over Misericordia earlier this season Kelley led the way with 11 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard
Brenna Babcock (Sweet Valley, PA/Northwest Area) added 10 points and seven rebounds and Shober had four points, four rebounds, and five blocks.
Wilkes is averaging 51.2 ppg on offense which ranks sixth in the conference and ranks seventh allowing 63.2 ppg on defense.
Misericordia enters with a 3-3 overall record and at 2-2 in the MAC Freedom after sweeping FDU-Florham last week.
Sophomore forward Meaghan McCaffrey leads the Cougars and ranks eighth in the conference with 10.3 ppg. She is also ninth in the league with 6.3 rpg. Sophomore guard/forward Gianna Delfino leads Misericordia and is sixth in the conference with 6.7 rpg. She is also second in the league with 2.7 steals-per-game.
Misericordia ranks seventh in the conference with 50.0 ppg on offense and second with 50.5 ppg on defense.
