Wilkes Women's Cross Country Completes Season at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team finished its competition for the 2022 season at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional, placing 25th of 29 teams at the West Branch Cross Country Course.

Wilkes finished with 694 team points from its five scoring runners in the 6k race that featured 209 runners.
Ali Elsesser (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) was the top finisher for Wilkes as the first-year runner finished with a time of 25:38.1 to place 118th overall.
Junior
Abby Kuppinger (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) set a personal best 6k time as she came across the finish line with a time of 25:46.2 to place in 126th.
Sophomore
Courtney Negra (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) had a time of 27:14.5 as she finished 156th. First year
Emily Satnowski (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) was the fourth Wilkes finisher as she went 27:26.8 and was 160th. Sophomore
Regan Metz (Berwick, PA/Berwick) was the final Colonel runner to score for the team as she finished in 27:45.6 and 167th place.
Junior
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) ran a season-best 28:04.6 to place 172nd. First year
Ashley Tomassacci (Jackson, PA/Blue Ridge) was 187th with a time of 30:09.6 to round out the Wilkes participants.
Johns Hopkins earned the automatic qualifying spot in the NCAA Division III Championships as the team placed first with 40 points. Alex Ross of Johns Hopkins was the individual champion at the regional as she finished the 6k in 21:42.8 to win by just over four seconds over Scranton's Jessica Hoffmann.
