Wilkes Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Cougar Classic
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team placed fourth of six teams Saturday morning at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University at Letterkenny Field.

Overall Results
The Colonels recorded 98 team points to place fourth during the season's first 6k for the women. The field consisted of 52 runners.
Ali Elsesser (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) paced the Colonels runners, placing 14th in her first collegiate 6k. The first year finished with a time of 26:50.40.
Abby Kuppinger (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) ran a career best time of 27:24.60 to place 18th.
Regan Metz (Berwick, PA/Berwick) ran a 27:34.00 in 20th and
Emily Satnowski (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) was 25th in her first collegiate 6k with a 28:23.60.
Courtney Negra (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) rounded out the Wilkes runners to score as she was 35th with a time of 29:39.50.
First years
Ashley Tomassacci (Jackson, PA/Blue Ridge) (37th, 30:22.20) and
Sydney Cronmiller (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) (39th, 31:53.00) rounded out the Wilkes participants in their first collegiate 6k.
Misericordia won the team title with 18 points and the Cougars Alexa Thompson placed first overall with a time of 24:29.00.
The Colonels return to the course next Saturday to preview the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional course at the Lock Haven University XC Open/Invitational at 11:00 a.m.
