Wilkes Men's and Women's Cross Country Prepare for Landmark Conference Championships
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams get set to compete at the 2025 Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, November 1 at Oak Ridge Park hosted by Drew University.
The men's 8K race kicks off the day at 11:00 a.m. followed by the women's 6K race at 12:00 p.m.

Co-head coaches
Jordan Uhing and
Joseph Turnau lead the team in their first season at the helm.
The men's team were selected seventh in the championship poll on 28 points, released by the conference office this afternoon. Moravian were selected to repeat, garnering seven first-place votes.
At the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, four of the five runners set new personal bests.
Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) bettered his record-setting time from last year's Aubrey Shenk Invitational with a 25:51.80 and finished as the top Division III runner in the Lock Haven Open on September 27
th. Senior
Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) ran his second-best time of the year with a 27:08.50, followed by
Brett Martinez (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) with a new personal best of 33:06.10.
Daniel Elkin (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) and
Thomas Majkowski (White Haven, PA/Wyoming Seminary) round out the group with best times of 33:07.80 and 50:48.60 respectively.
Last season, the team finished in sixth place with Thompson earning the program's first-ever All-Landmark selection with a nineteenth-place finish.
On the women's side, the Colonels were tied for ninth in the championship poll with 17 points alongside Lycoming College. The University of Scranton was tabbed to win with 69 points and two first-place votes.
Like the men, all runners but one set personal best times in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, led by
Ava Bailor (Brogue, PA/Red Lion) with a 25:06.40. First year
Annabeth Glass (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone Area) followed with a best time of 28:15.90, down almost four minutes from her first 6K of the season. Sophomore
Julia Lewis (Hanover Township, PA/Wyoming Seminary) hit her personal best with a 29:35.30, as did
Ava O'Shield (Hoschton, GA/Mill Creek) and
Audrey Cornell (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) with times of 30:33.60 and 30:47.30 respectively.
Mara Adams (Mehoopany, PA/Tunkhannock Area) did not compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational but set her best time of 31:30.60 in the Lock Haven Open.
Last season the Colonels finished tenth as a team but had a strong individual showing from Bailor who finished 38
th overall with a time of 24:58.
