2025 Wilkes Men's and Women's Cross Country Season Preview

WILKES-BARRE - With the 2025 season on the horizon, the Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams enter the new year under new leadership in co-head coaches in Joseph Turnau and Jordan Uhing.

For the men's team, senior Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) returns as the lone upperclassmen of the group. He brings much-needed leadership and experience to the group as he looks to finish his Colonels career on a high note. Sophomore Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) looks to build off an impressive first year in the program in which he earned an All-Landmark Conference Honorable Mention, and lastly Thomas Majkowski (White Haven, PA/Wyoming Seminary) rounds out the men's team as the lone first-year.

On the women's team, sophomore Ava Bailor (Brogue, PA/Red Lion) is the team's lone returner from last season, along with three new faces ready to make an immediate impact. Annabeth Glass (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone Area) and Ava O'Shield (Hoschton, GA/Mill Creek) are two first-years looking to make a name for themselves in 2025, with sophomore transfer Julia Lewis (Hanover Township, PA/Wyoming Seminary) looking to do the same.

The Colonels are poised to compete throughout the season, looking to achieve personal records and elevate the program under the new coaching staff.

Both teams begin the new year this afternoon at the Misericordia Invitational, where they both competed last season. In 2024, the men's team finished sixth out of the 11 competing teams, while the women's team placed seventh. Today's event begins at 6 p.m. for the women's team, with the men's team starting at 6:45 p.m.
