Wilkes Men's Cross Country Finishes 13th at the Lock Haven University Open
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Wilkes men's cross country team placed 13th of 17 teams in an 8k race at the Lock Haven University Open on Saturday morning.
The Colonels scored a total of 322 points from their five scoring runners, which placed them 13th overall in a race that featured 162 total runners from 17 different institutions. Each school had at least five runners competing.
Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) led the pack with a time of 26:50.10, earning him a 5th place spot overall, with Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) close behind, finishing in 6th place with a time of 26:50.50. Daniel Elkin (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) (145th/35:08), Brett Martinez (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) (148th/35:54), and Thomas Majkowski (White Haven, PA/Wyoming Seminary) (157th/52:20) rounded out the scorers for Wilkes.
Ashland University finished first overall with a team score of 74, and four of their five runners finishing in the top fifteen of runners. Cody Achilles of Seton Hills was the overall top finisher with a time of 26:22.20.
Wilkes men's cross country returns to action on Saturday, October 18, as they travel to Gettysburg, Pa. for the Aubrey Shenk Invitational held at Gettysburg College at 10:00a.m.
