Wilkes Basketball Teams Travel to Delaware Valley to Begin Second Half of Conference Play
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's basketball teams begin the second half of the MAC Freedom schedule on Saturday as the squads travel to Doylestown, Pa. for a doubleheader against Delaware Valley University.

The Wilkes women enter the matchup with a 4-13 overall record standing 0-7 in league play following a 78-52 setback against Misericordia on Wednesday night.
Ashley Caster (York, PA/Spring Grove) tops the team with 8.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in the frontcourt.
Gianna Roberts (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke) has enjoyed a fine rookie campaign adding 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Haley Mesaros (Royersford, PA/Pope John Paul II) and
Alyssa Alfano (Dunmore, PA/Holy Cross) contribute 7.5 and 6.0 points respectively for Wilkes. The Lady Colonels are averaging 60.4 points per-game while allowing 70.7 points per-contest.
Delaware Valley comes into the game with a 7-11 overall record standing 3-4 in MAC Freedom games. The Aggies posted a 75-58 victory in the first meeting between the two teams' in mid-January at the Marts Center.
Danielle Skedzieleski leads the Aggies offensive attack averaging 16.4 points and 7.1 rebounds. Ashley Smink follows with 15.1 points and 3.4 boards while Sam Foy chips in with 10.9 points and 4.9 rebounds. Delaware Valley averages 58.7 points per-game while yielding 62.1 points per-contest.
The Colonel men enter the matchup with a 9-9 overall record owning a 3-4 league mark after falling against Misericordia 103-76 Wednesday night in the Marts Center.
Marcus Robinson (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) leads the team averaging 16.1 points and 3.9 rebounds hitting a team-high 59 three-pointers on the year.
Connor Evans (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) follows with 12.1 points and 3.8 assists running the offense for Wilkes.
Tommy Bowen (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) is back from injury averaging 8.0 points and 3.6 boards in 13 games. Wilkes is averaging 74.8 points per-game while giving-up 73.1 points per-contest.
Delaware Valley enters the contest with a 10-8 overall record sitting in second place in the conference with a 5-2 mark. The Aggies posted a 69-65 win against Wilkes in the teams' first matchup this season in Wilkes-Barre.
The Aggies feature a balanced scoring attack with four players averaging double figures in scoring. Tyliek Kimbrough tops the squad with 15.9 points and 4.5 assists.
