Fashouer Nationally Ranked; Five from Wilkes Wrestling Regionally Ranked in NWCA Preseason Release

MANHEIM, PA – The Wilkes University wrestling team saw five of its wrestlers Regionally Ranked by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) in its Division III Preseason Rankings with sophomore Austin Fashouer (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) ranking sixth nationally at 125-pounds as released by the organization yesterday.

Fashouer, an NCAA qualifier last season, went 32-6 during his first year with the Colonels. He ranks sixth in the NWCA Division III Coaches Rankings Preseason Poll at 125-pounds and is second in the Southeast Region Preseason Rankings.

James Geiger (Dallas, PA/Dallas), a junior, is ranked second in the Southeast Region at 165-pounds to start the season. He was 14-8 overall last season and placed fifth at the 2022 NCAA Southeast Regional.

Cameron Butka (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), a sophomore, took the fourth spot in the Southeast Region at 197-pounds. Butka went 29-10 in his first year and was fourth at the Southeast Regional last season.

Jack Bauer (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) is ranked sixth in the Southeast Region at 133-pounds. The senior was 21-9 last season overall and was seventh in the weight class at the Southeast Regional.

Nevin Rauch (New Columbia, PA/Milton), a junior, is ranked sixth in the Southeast Region at 285-pounds. He went 15-9 overall last season and was eighth at the Southeast Regional.

The Wilkes University wrestling team begins its season at the Ned McGinley Invitational Tournament hosted by King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
