Four year standout performer on wrestling team…helped Colonels capture four MAC championships…during his four seasons; Wilkes posted a dual record of 45-5, including a perfect 13-0 record in 1970-71…wrestling in the heavyweight class, he finished his career with dual match record of 34-4-3…his .866 winning percentage ranks 14th all time at Wilkes…claimed three individual titles at the MAC Championships…in 1971, became the first Wilkes heavyweight to earn All-America honors when he finished fourth at the NCAA College Division Championship…in same tournament, earned the award for most pins in the least time after winning five matches by fall in less than 19 minutes.
