Wilkes University Athletics

Earned four varsity letters in wrestling and three in football...on the wrestling mat, copped a Middle Atlantic Conference title during the 1961 season…in the same year, he fashioned a third-place finish at the NAIA National Championships in the 190 pound weight class…during his four seasons, he helped Wilkes post an overall record of 27 wins, five losses, three ties, and MAC team titles in 1960 and 1961…was named a co-captain of the wrestling team in 1963 and earned the team’s Most Valuable Wrestler Award…earned individual honors as member of the football team; named 1962 first team MAC all-star an offensive lineman and the Wilkes Most Valuable Defensive Player award…following the 1963 sports season, he was named the Wilkes Athlete of the Year and the Beacon Athlete of the Year.
