One of the most feared hitters ever to step into the batter's box for the Navy and Gold, Mayerski played six different positions over his career while managing a .336 career batting average. Mayerski ranks in the top-five in multiple offensive categories, including ranking at the top in career home runs with 36 and most RBI's with 167. Mayerski ranks second in games played with 146, second in at-bats with 518, and second in total bases with 344 while ranking fourth in hits with 173, doubles with 41, and triples with 11, and fifth in runs scored with 132. Mayerski ranks in the top 10 in seven different single-season categories, and was a key part of the 2007 Freedom Conference Championship team, hitting two home runs against King's and totaling seven RBI's as the Colonels swept the tournament in three games. In 2006, Mayerski had the tenth-best slugging percentage in the nation at .786.

Mayerski was a four-time All-Freedom Conference selection, including a 2006 ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection. Mayerski was named the NCBWA National Hitter of the Week in April 2006 and was named the conference Player of the Week four times. Mayerski was named Rookie of the Year in 2005, Team MVP in 2006, and was a team captain his junior and senior seasons. In the classroom, Mayerski was named to the MASCAC Honor Roll all three years he was eligible.

After graduation, Mayerski served as an Assistant Coach from 2009 to 2011, and played an integral role in the Wilkes team that set the program record for wins at 29 in 2009.
