Hall of Fame
After graduation from Wilkes in 1988 as a four-year letterwinner, Folek enjoyed a fine career coaching the Colonels baseball team, accumulating 338 wins and finishing as the all-time winningest coach of the program. Â He began as an assistant coach with Wilkes in 1994 where he helped lead the squad to the Middle Atlantic Conference championship. In 1996 Folek took over as head mentor of the program where his teams recorded 20+ wins in 10 of his 17 years at the helm.

In 2007 the Colonels captured the Freedom Conference championship going 24-12 earning the school’s second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Two years later Folek led the squad to a school-record 29 wins and a Freedom Conference and ECAC Southern Region postseason berth.

Over his career, Folek coached five players who were drafted or signed to professional contracts including current head baseball coach Kevin Gryboski (Atlanta Braves).
